Both secure and non-secure methods access the same email account and appear the same. The difference is that the secure page encrypts all transmissions between your browser session and the GroupWise web server to provide enhanced protection of your data. Because of the extra data required for these transmissions, the secure link may be somewhat slower, especially when transmitting large attachments. This depends on the speed of your internet connection and the power of your individual computer. For routine reading of email over a DSL or cable modem connection, most users will not see a performance difference. We recommend dial-up users choose the Secure connection, and only change to the non-secure if performance is unacceptable.
